Homemade Applesauce

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs . Apples, cored and peeled
  • 1 c . Water
  • 2 tbsp . Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 c. Sugar (more or less depending on preference)
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1 tsp . Ground Cinnamon
  • ½ tsp . Vanilla Extract

Instructions

Core and peel the apples; then cut them into uniform chunks and place in a large pot.

Add the water, lemon juice, sugar, salt, cinnamon and vanilla extract. Mix well.

Bring the contents to a boil over high heat; then reduce heat, cover pot and simmer 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally until the apples are soft.

Mash the apples with a potato masher or a fork and allow to cool. Refrigerate up to 4 days in an airtight container.
